In reply to Elizabeth. Hey Elizabeth, Unrefined shea butter can have a strong odor. Refined shea butter doesn't have the same odor.

I am excited to try this recipe. However I live in a hot place and don’t have air conditioning. The inside of the house can reach 90-95 during the summer which is coming soon. I was wondering, would you recommend I store the homemade deodorant in the fridge, or will that cause the ingredients to separate? The only change I’ll make to the recipe is using mango butter instead of shea butter.

I purchased the Shea Butter you linked and recommended but it has a VERY strong odor. I do not want my face smelling like that. Is that how yours is? The smell is somewhat smoky (like they say shea butter is) but more like spoiled milk or manure. Gross. I tried adding scents to it, but it’s so strong. Any suggestions?? Is there a shea butter with less odor you would recommend?
